What Is Bat Shaving?

Bat shaving is the thinning of a composite barrel's width from the inside. This process increases the bat's trampoline effect. Shaving a bat requires the removal of its end cap where a athe then removes shavings on the bat's inner diameter. Shaving a bat will improve the bats performance increasing the batted balls exit velocity and distance. Shaving a bat can increase distance anywhere from 30ft to 80ft in additonal distance.

What Is Bat Compression?

We use a compression tester to evaluate every bat we work on. The compression reading tells you a great deal about the bats barrel and how stiff or flexible it is. It helps us determine how much pressure to use when rolling a bat and how much material to remove when shaving a bat. This part of the proccess verifies that we have in fact accomplished our goal.

What Is Bat Rolling?

Bat rolling is an accelerated break-in process for composite bats that brings a bat to its peak performance. We use motorized rollers to compress the barrel along its length. This compression loosens the composite fibers in the barrel. As the barrel becomes more flexable it creates better trampoline effect at the point of contact. The advantage of using motorized rollers is that it will be a continious roll while applying the progressive preasure down on the barrel to give you an even roll without giving the bat flat spots from having to stop to reposition your hands to turn the bat then stop to apply progressive pressure and stop again again to turn the barrel. We DO NOT offer heat rolling because that is a form of up selling we DON'T believe in heat rolling composite bats as they are Fiber Reinforced Plastics and we all know whathappens to plastic in heat. Heat rolling aluminum & composite bats is SCAM.
